Prince Caspian

prince_caspian_poster2.jpgLast night, Michelle and I went to see the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. It was part of an incredible date night that was refreshing and enjoyable. (Thanks, Speedway, for my free dinner at Applebees!)

I really enjoyed the movie. To be honest, I have not read the book, so I can't make a comparison. But I feel like it was an entertaining movie.

One word of advice to parents. You may want to leave the younger children home. The violence is not graphic, but it is pretty intense during the fighting scenes. It is somewhat reminiscent of some of the battle scenes in the Lord of the Rings movies.

I recommend going to see the movie. It is entertaining and action-packed. There were very few scenes that drag on, even the non-action ones. If you see the movie, let me know what you think.

Saw it at 12:05 a.m. on Friday. It was awesome. Some of the action, while not graphic, was suggestive. Still gets five stars.

Good movie - yes, it was somewhat different from the book, but I actually did not mind the changes. (and I am a long time Chronicles fan...)
The struggle between Prince Caspian and High King Peter was not in the book, but actually enhanced the story, and the conflicted Peter showed how we cannot go it our way or go it alone - we all need help.
And then towards the ending where Lucy is standing alone, with Aslan at one side of the bridge, and the opposing army is halted in their tracks - what a great vision of how one person, with Christ on their side can make a difference against evil.
I also liked the way they brought the White Witch back into it - and the temptation that Peter and Caspian were both faced with, and nearly gave in to...

Some changes from the book, yes - but they still kept to the spirit of the story which means it gets two thumbs up from me.
